Italian Education System

The higher education system in Italy is divided into two sectors. These two sectors are operated and function differently. These two sectors are the University sector and the Higher Education of Fine Arts, Music, and Dance sector.

The university sector includes public universities, legally recognized private universities, online universities, and high education institutions with special licenses. The university courses are structured according to a credit system.

One university credit is equal to 25 hours of study by a student. Students can study towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. at universities in Italy. Indian students can benefit significantly from an internationally recognized degree from any university in Italy.

Cost of Studying in Italy

A great benefit to Indian students, who wish to study in Italy, is the affordability of Italian education. Like all universities in Italy, the cost of tuition fees will vary according to the course of study and the rank of the university.

Tuition at public universities is priced lower as compared to tuition at private universities. Indian students may shell out in-between €950 to €4,500 for a Bachelor’s Degree at a public university in Italy.

While private universities may charge up to €20,000 per year, depending on the course of study. These fees are exclusive of living fees. Living fees such as accommodation, food, travel, and entertainment will depend on the lifestyle that you choose to live.
